Skerries Sea Kayaking Adventures overnight trip to Lough Erne in Fermanagh, Northern Ireland in January 2016. After an extremely cold all day paddle we reached Trannish island and the bothy we would be staying in for the night. Its a well insulated stone building with basic seating and a table, platform sleeping bases and wood stove, water, bedding and lighting must be carried in. A composting toilet just a short walk from the building. Access is via a key coded lock which is passed to you at booking and payment. Camping is available. In the morning after a short paddle we reached Inis Rath island, which is owned by the Hare Krishna and were invited in for a fine vegetarian meal. A Most enjoyable trip even if it was COLD.
